Discover Barcelona's Parc Güell

La Pedrera, Casa Batlló, the Sagrada Familia… Barcelona is practically an urban exhibition of the work of Antoni Gaudí who, among so many spectacular constructions, also had time to create a unique natural corner, the famous Parc Güell.

Barcelona's Parc Güell, a work of art in the heart of nature

This public park with gardens and architectural elements, located in the upper part of the city, is perhaps Gaudí's most unique work. It belongs to his naturalist period, in which he drew inspiration from the organic forms of nature and expressed his creativity in new structural solutions.

Although it was initially conceived as a luxury housing development for the bourgeoisie of the time, the project did not quite work out, and Park Güell ended up becoming a regular venue for dances, popular festivals, sporting events, ... to this day.

Without a doubt, it's one of the must-see attractions if you come to Barcelona.

Gaudí's Park

Gaudí had free rein to create this corner of Barcelona. Here, colour, light, and carefully studied forms reign supreme, playing with the visitor's senses. Thanks to his profound analysis of ruled geometry, we can admire unusual figures and structures unseen until his time.

The pavilions, with their vaults in the purest Gaudí style, impress the visitor as soon as they arrive.

The Hall of the Hundred Columns or Hypostyle Hall, the viaducts, the Calvary, the square where the meetings and events of the planned urban development were to be held, its characteristic trencadís mosaic… There is so much to see in Park Güell that the best thing is for you to go and visit it.

How to get to Parc Güell by public transport

From Barcelona Century we recommend that you choose to go by Metro:

• L5 (Hospital Clinic – Diagonal) L3 (Diagonal – Vallcarca). If you choose this transport, you will arrive in 30 minutes.

Upon exiting the Vallcarca metro station, the signs and directions will help you easily find Park Güell.

How to get there by car

While public transport is always preferable, if you're planning to drive, you should know that the park has three different entrances: the main entrance (Larrard Street), and the entrances via Carretera del Carmel or Pasaje de Sant Josep de la Muntanya.
