Count Dracula (1970 – Jesús Franco)

Dracula was in Barcelona! For this film about the famous vampire, iconic Barcelona locations such as Montjuïc Castle, Plaça del Rei, and the Sagrada Familia were used, transforming the city into Transylvania. Pere Portabella made a documentary about this filming in 2017.

The Nameless (1999-Jaume Balagueró)

Five years after the murder of a young girl, just when her mother seemed to have found stability, a phone call once again shatters her world: "Mom, it's me... Come get me." A psychological thriller combined with supernatural phenomena. Chilling!

The film was shot at the Tibidabo amusement park.

Darkness (2002 – Jaume Balagueró)

A family moves into a dark house with startling and terrifying secrets. As the film unfolds, the dangers lurking within its walls are revealed.

Filming took place primarily on Via Laietana. Interestingly, one scene caused quite a stir among pedestrians when a car accident was simulated, complete with artificial rain and over two hundred extras.

[Rec] (2007 – Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza)

Trapped in a quarantined building with a horde of hungry zombies, a TV reporter and her cameraman record the brutal events.

The film was shot mainly at Rambla de Catalunya, 34, in the Casa Argelich building.

While You Sleep (2011 – Jaume Balagueró)

A psychopathic doorman in a building becomes obsessed with a young neighbor, leading him to the worst consequences.

It was filmed in several locations in the Eixample (yes, in the neighborhood where our hotel is located) and Les Corts.

Muse (2018 – Jaume Balagueró)

A literature professor becomes involved in a series of murders related to a recurring nightmare about a woman.

The filming took place at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Ateneu Barcelonès.

Bird Box Barcelona – Blindfolded (2023 – Álex Pastor and David Pastor)

Always with a blindfold on, this film follows a group struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic Barcelona.

The survivors' path to cross Barcelona runs through places in the Gràcia neighborhood, l'Eixample, the Gothic neighborhood or the port, to the Telefèric.

Rocafort Station (2023 – Luis Prieto)

This psychological horror film explores the urban legend of the Rocafort metro station. Laura starts working at this old, quiet station, but she soon discovers a legend that begins to haunt her: many people have died there under strange circumstances.

It was filmed inside the Barcelona metro, which created a disturbing atmosphere throughout the film.
